Milwaukee Happy Note–February 21st, 22nd, and 23rd, 2025

Happy Friday, Happy End of the Week, and Happy almost Weekend!

 

Is a warm weekend (relatively speaking) on the way? Yes indeed!  And it will be just cold enough to allow our beautiful snow to hang around. So, this IS the weekend to get outside to ski, sled, skate, firepit with a warm beverage/blanket, and generally enjoy everything that a Wisconsin winter weekend is all about! What, winter isn’t your thing? No problem! There are a TON of theater debuts this weekend AND other indoor fun. So what are you waiting for? Let this wonderful winter weekend commence! And I can’t think of a better place to enjoy this winter weekend than in Milwaukee, my home by the Lake.

 

Milwaukee, in my humble opinion, is THE BEST little big city because it just so happens to be packed with tons of mega big city cool! So, are you interested in a few Milwaukee weekend things to do? Well, without further ado here are a few Milwaukee weekend things for you (weekend of February 21st, 22nd, and 23rd, 2025):

-Bonsai Show at the Milwaukee Domes.

-Skylight Music Theater debuts “Frankenstein: The Musical” which runs through March 9th.

-Milwaukee Public Museum presents “Saturday Exhibit Tour Series: Celebrating Black History” and “Crossing the Line: The Milwaukee Fair Housing Marches of 1967-1968 Traveling Display”.

-Lake Country Playhouse debuts “Tinker Bell” which runs through March 1st.

-Wehr Nature Center presents: “Maple Tapping Workshop for Families”; “Maple Tapping Workshop for Adults”; and “Operation Recon Nature-Families”.

-Racine Theater Guild debuts “And In This Corner: Cassius Clay” which runs through March 2nd.

-Havenwoods State Forest presents “Stewardship Saturday” and “Open Quilting”.

-”Milwaukee Comic Con” at the Wisconsin State Fair Exposition Center.

-Sunset Playhouse presents “Cowboy Camp, 2025”.

-”Handmade Market-Art A La Carte” at the Waukesha County Exposition Center.

-Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra presents “American Voices”.

-”Milwaukee Auto Show” at the Baird Center.

-Waukesha Choral Union presents “Faure Requiem”.

-”Meow Blanket Bonanza” at Almost Home Cat Rescue MKE.

-Urban Ecology Center presents “Urban Candlelight Hike” and “Green Spaces, Familiar Faces”.

-Marquette University Music Ensembles presents “Orchestra Concert III”.

-Schlitz Audubon Nature Center presents: “Search for Ice-canos”; “Raptor Encounter”; “Snowy Story Time”; “Audubon Kids: Animal Tracks and Traces”; and “Nature Ambassadors”.

-Milwaukee Bucks are at home against the Miami Heat.

-Milwaukee Admirals are at home against the Henderson Silver Knights.

-Angelic Roots in Oak Creek presents: “Rx Sound Journey Experience”; “Mamata Mindful Minutes: Mindful Artists [For Kids!]”; and “Spiritual Currents Creative Music Workshop”.

Continuing…Yet Still Cool???

-Racine Zoo wraps up “Winter Picnic in a Snow Globe”.

-Waukesha Civic Theater wraps up “Akeela and the Bee”.

-Lakeside Players wraps up “Anastasia: The Musical”.

-Kettle Moraine Playhouse wraps up “Bad In Bed (A Fairy Tale)”.

-Next Act Theater continues “The Children” through March 9th.

-The Domes continues its indoor garden train show “Golden Age of Steam” through April 6th.

-Wehr Nature Center continues “Wehr Birders” every Sunday (where?).

-UW Milwaukee’s Manfred Olson Planetarium continues “Constellations of the Zodiac” through February 28th.

-Milwaukee Repertory Theater continues “The Craic” through March 16th and “The Woman in Black” through March 23rd.

-”Yoga at the Terrace” continues at the Villa Terrace Decorative Arts Museum (indoors…I hope).

-Marquette University’s Haggerty Museum of Art continues: “The Big 4-0 Collection, Vol. 2: New Views of the Collection”; “Michelle Grabner: Under the Sink”; “Visual Legacies: Photographs by Ellie Lee Weems”; and Parallel Play: The Art of Science & the Science of Art”. All run through May 24th.

 

A Dare? I dare you to…get outside and enjoy the snow!

 

Live Music/Comedy? Holy Crap Everywhere!
